We run a variety of courses in our woodland workshop and camp. Courses include:

  • Bushcraft skills
  • Plant identification and use
  • Coppicing and coppice restoration 
  • Charcoal making and wood chunking
  • Managing small woodlands and woodland management plans
  • Sourcing, cutting, stacking and burning firewood

We can also rent out our woodland workshop and camp for team away days, meetings, workshops and other group activities.

2 DAY HORSE LOGGING COURSE: 11th & 12th APRIL 2015

Horses are the ideal low impact and environmentally friendly forestry ‘machine’, particularly well suited for working sensitive woodland sites. This weekend course will give you hands on experience of horse logging, taught by professional horse logger Crunchie , working with his two cob horses.

You will learn:

  • How to care for and harness the working horses
  • Equipment and extraction methods
  • Extraction routes and stacking
  • Get hands on experience of working the horses in a working woodland

£200 per person for 2 full days of hands on experience and training

INTRODUCTION TO BUSHCRAFT: 23rd MAY 2015

This course is an introduction to the principles of bushcraft , covering:

  • Safe use of cutting tools
  • Basic carving techniques
  • Sustainable harvesting of materials
  • Natural firelighting
  • Wild food
  • Basic tracking 

The course tutor is Leo Dawson, an experienced woodsman and and qualified bushcraft trainer.
