The New Working Woodlanders

We have a regular group of working woodlanders that volunteer and that come and work at Prime Coppice, types of work include clearing rides, restoration coppicing and layering, fencing, wood extraction, pruning apple trees, grassland/scrub management and managing glades. Prime Coppice is a beautiful place to work, and many of our volunteers are keen to get involved for the new knowledge they learn and for the satisfaction they derive from working outside and knowing they are contributing to the management of this special place. We can also provide firewood, woodland products or coppice poles in exchange for volunteering at Prime Coppice.

Our next volunteer days are:

Sunday 18th September and Sunday 2nd October

Come and stay at Prime Coppice as a volunteer

We can host volunteers for 1 – 2 weeks and possibly longer, with volunteers working in exchange for accommodation. We have a comfortable 2 room caravan to stay in. The loo and shower is in a nearby building. You would provide your own meals and would need to have your own transport. We are ideally looking for volunteers with some woodland skills, and you would be particularly welcome if you have a chainsaw license! Activities would include woodland management, caring for livestock and gardening, with the emphasis on the woodland. We have a short application form for volunteers.
